Healthy Eating Info Site

To enhance public awareness and understanding of nutrition and healthy diet, the Food and Nutritional Sciences Programme of the School of Life Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) launched the ‘Healthy Eating Info Site’ (http://www.healthyeatingsite.org) providing a convenient access to correct nutrition information. The website provides an array of nutrition information including essential nutrients (water, carbohydrates, dietary fibre, protein, fats and oils), its deficiency and excessive symptoms, its recommended daily intake and the food sources, as well as common myths about diet.  It also provides a wealth of nutrition tips such as, cooking tips, the impact of cholesterol on health, nutrition requirement of vegetarians and advice for weight gain during pregnancy. A free platform is also established through which registered dietitians will answer public’s questions about diet, helping them to develop healthy eating habits and improve health.  The content of the website will be updated by nutritionists and registered dietitians regularly to provide the most updated nutrition information and diet tips.
